Finding a wheelchair that genuinely fits a child or young adult — in size, weight, and everyday practicality — is not always straightforward. The Ziggo Pediatric Lightweight Folding Wheelchair was designed to solve exactly that. Available in three seat widths (12", 14", and 16") with color-coded frames that make sizing intuitive at a glance, the Ziggo delivers the comfort, adjustability, and durability that therapists, clinicians, and caregivers rely on for daily use at home, school, therapy, and travel. Flip-back padded desk-length armrests, swing-away height-adjustable footrests, a safety pelvic belt, and a calf strap provide a secure, supportive fit, while the folding steel frame keeps transport and storage manageable. How do I choose the right seat width for my child?
Seat width should be measured across the widest part of the user's hips or thighs while seated. Add approximately 1" to that measurement for a comfortable fit — the seat should be wide enough to avoid pressure on the hips but not so wide that the user cannot reach the wheels or maintain proper posture. The 12" seat (Orange) is designed for smaller children, the 14" (Red) for mid-range sizing, and the 16" (Blue) for older children and young adults. A physical or occupational therapist can provide a precise fitting recommendation.
What is the weight capacity difference between the models?
The 12" and 14" seat models (ZG1200 and ZG1400) have a weight capacity of 150 lbs, while the 16" seat model (ZG1600) supports up to 250 lbs. This reflects the structural differences in the larger frame. Always confirm the user's weight is within the rated capacity of the selected model before purchase.
Are the footrests adjustable and removable?
Yes. The swing-away footrests can be pivoted out to the side and removed entirely, which makes transfers in and out of the chair significantly easier — the user or caregiver does not have to step over the footrest. The footrests are also height-adjustable to accommodate the user's leg length and ensure proper lower-limb positioning during use.
What accessories are compatible with the Ziggo?
The Ziggo is compatible with a range of optional accessories sold separately, which may include headrests, lateral supports, trays, and other positioning aids designed for pediatric wheelchair users. Contact us with your model SKU (ZG1200, ZG1400, or ZG1600) and we can help identify compatible accessories for your specific configuration.
